Becoming a Poll Worker

Understanding the role of a Poll Worker
Poll workers play a vital role in ensuring elections are conducted fairly, securely, and efficiently. Serving as a poll worker offers a meaningful opportunity to participate directly in the democratic process while supporting fellow citizens as they exercise their right to vote. This position allows individuals to gain valuable insight into how elections operate and to contribute to the integrity of the voting process. Many poll workers choose to return election after election because of the sense of responsibility, teamwork, and public service the role provides.

During Advance Voting and on Election Day, poll workers assist voters, operate and monitor voting equipment, and carry out precinct duties in compliance with Georgia election law and established procedures.
